help w126 handbrake stuck

hi i have a 1990 300se w126 and the handbrake wont release. i think unfortunately it got pulled back too far and now it wont release. it wasnt me!!! Is there simple way to release it.

You will have to take the tension off it. I dont think as with all these problems this will be easy.The cable will need to be released from the brake lever. Another member may have a better suggestion

One way to release the Hand Brake is to, start the engine so that the Servo is in operation then push very firmly on the Foot Brake Pedal, whilst holding that pressure, try to release the H/Brake, this method will usually work.

Hi folks, I have a similar problem with my 2004 E270 CDI, whereby foot operated handbrake does not always release at fist tug, sometimes I am there 3 - 4 mins trying to release it. rather annoying, is this a fault or the way I am doing it. It's my first merc so unsure if i'm missing something?

Dismantle the interior panels to gain access to the mechanism, clean and lubricate.
