Help Guys!

My up to now 100% fault free E300 TD has a fault!

I gently turned right out of a junction the other night and my BAS/ASR light came on followed by the BAS/ASR warning on the display. The fault is still there, when I first switch on the ignition all is well with no faults displayed. When I start the engine the BAS warning comes on followed about 10 seconds later by the ASR warning. The car drives and brakes ok.

I have read that the foot brake switch can cause this problem. I have removed the trim panels to gain access to the switch. Everything looks ok, no loose connections that I can see. The rear brake lights work as they should.

Questions.

1, How do I remove the switch?
2, Can I test the switch for faults once removed?
3, What else can cause the fault? (sensors?)

Any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone have the part number for the switch, I've looked on the Russian website but can't find it.

Well done Fella's!
Have removed the brake switch, opened it up and sure enough the small contact for the BAS/ASR circuit had broken! Will pick up a replacement tomorrow.
