Im looking for an independant to help look after a 2004 500 sl in the Preston area, if anybody can recommend anyone I would be grateful. The car has two years warrenty left so it will have to be to Merc standard.

I've used Ciciley for my vans (always OK) but I think they also service cars in Preston - they have been going a long time.
For my car always use MB of Blackburn.

Ciceley Continental are now dodge main dealers, they still deal with vans. They looked after my C32 a few years ago, they were very good but boy could they charge, Im looking for an independant that I can save on servicing but not invalidate my warrenty if thats possible

I would really appreciate that, although I like these cars I'm going to get stuck with one because of my youngest sons stupidity and Mercedes finance contributing to all the reckless lending and borrowing thats going on.

Credit crunch, Mercedes still seem to think its fine to lend 22 year old lads with 150k mortgauges and large existing car loans the money to buy 40k SLs.

But the main culprit is obviously my son, but it didn't take the salesman long to clinch the sale on this Black 500 SL with a full Brabus Kits on.

I took it back to the main dealer he bought it from 5 weeks and 1000 miles after he took delivery to try to get them to restock it, at the time prepared to lose the 8k deposit, they said they we not interested in it at any price as the SL season had finished.

Sorry to hear about it. I am only 28 myself and Came within a wisker of buying a brand new honda firebird during the summer, until my dad managed to talk me out of adding £9000 to my allready extensive out goings.

I tried to talk him out of it but at the time he ordered it he was earning really stupid wages, two weeks after his wages dropped by half, like I said could happen.

I've had a couple of Mercs before a 430clk and a C32 AMG whilst they are nice things the thing that spoils it are the dealer servicing prices and the crap service you get. I am selling my GS 430 Lexus to take this SL on the difference between the dealerships( mercedes and lexus) is astounding.

Good luck with it, after all it is a great car.

The prices are high agreed but they are getting much better with the customer service they offer thats for sure.

Hello - not really Preston but I can recommend Greenvale Services in Whitefield north Manchester - google 'greenvale servies' well established and they know their MBs. Regards.
