Help with factory fitted Dashcam

We have the MBUX dashcam and the car was delivered with a decent sized memory stick.

My problem is the camera only records single files lasting approximately one minute. The camera is set on 'Loop recording' which I believe should keep going until it fills the card up or the ignition is turned off.

My wife went to Exeter yesterday and the memory stick has dozens of one minute files, each about 55mb in size. Why? Why not one file for the whole journey?

Is there a hidden setting?

Checked some software called 'Dashcam Viewer' but not compatible with the files even though it suggested a CODEC which I installed.

The looping videos are a design feature. It’s so the camera can overwrite them and if you press a button to keep, it’ll only keep the 1 minute video rather than all.

1 minute admittently is annoying though, 5 mins is ideal and 3 mins seems to be the norm for dashcam video length.

I accept what you say and our memory stick has ample room for our needs but these one-minute lengths are a pain. Just like the 'none existent loop feature

Hi folks, its been a while ! Just got myself GLE AMG 300 SUV W167 May 20 . Just discovered Mercedes Dash cam is available, any comments help etc? Many thanks
