Help !!!!

I'm having a really bad day.....

Last night my wifes E240 W210 had a complete gearbox failure, no warnings of anything untoward whatsoever.....

Some of the quote I am gettinmg are staggering, has anyone any suggestions in the North Midalnds/Staffordshire area for a good, reputable and cheap repairer?

All suggestions welcomed.

I've just been through this route myself.

MB quoted £4500 to replace.

I went to VMTP in Cannock. They give a 12 months unlimited mileage warranty. I've done 700 miles so far, will be taking it in for a free oil change next week (1 month/1000 miles).

They collected the car from Wolverhampton and brought it back for me total cost £2097.
