hi everyone ,urgent help needed,,wont start

The starter motor does seam to be at fault. with a voltmeter on the small terminal there should be 12 volt when the key is turned to start, a poor connection on an earth strap could cause the problem, either on the engine or battery

I fitted one to a 220cdi last week, starter alone was £375 without labour!

just had the call from cousins garage supplied and fitted £250 not to bad considering merc quoted me £489 plus vat just for the starter

my cousins place wasnt my 1st choice but it was the 1st place i could tell the rac to take it too, he specializes in german cars too but usally bmws

MB do not use rebuilt starters, and they are as good as new

I was one of those once these things when re conditioned are equal to new, and come down the same production lines
