Im new and thought i best introduce myself.I use forums a lot but not car ones mainly for my hobby which is carp fishing. The wife has just purchased am M Class 270 D year 2001.Its a lovely motor and drives really well.Ive noticed occasionally the two left hand lights will come and go without affecting vehicle performance, these are BAS+ESP(i think). After getting myself on an Americam forum by accident LOL ive noticed this problem is quite common and the remedy appears to be a new brake light switch.Any thoughts. Cheers.Great forum and i will enjoy reading back through previous posts.

As Blobcat and as you have read, the brake light switch can leak, killing the speed sensor in the CAN bus.
