Hi guys you may remember me from last year. I was probably driving you all nuts with the search for a new eclass then cls lol , well I did not get one as my insurance was to high due to points on my driving license, I brought a Audi A5 cabriolet yep please don’t throw me out the forum lol, as it was going for silly money, however now I’m looking at px with a 2010 cls grand edition as my boss has one I’m blown away buy just how nice the car is for so little money as you can only imagine money is very tight now due to covid with my work, so a part exchange is a good deal for me as the Audi is worth around 7k does anyone on here have good knowledge of these cars common problems ect, the car I’m looking at is below 100k for a 2010, I. Know about the oil cooler seals going but just when do they go or could they go at all??are parts expensive now being a 11 year old car
Many thanks for anyone’s help

It’s going to be an om642 engine , probably with the 350 rather than the 320 engine I should think on a 2010 .
As you know oil cooler seals , inlet port motor , swirl flaps/manifold gunged up , turbo actuator are other common issues
Car will be due engine and transmission mounts soon .
Gearbox atf/filter change every 40k miles .
Lovely cars with a great engine , make sure you know a good independent specialist and buy your own icarsoft code reader

The oil coolers seals will go, around £750 to replace, check for oil at the back of the engine undertray

I thought the cost of insurance stopped your search for a 350 or am I wrong?

Just remember the grand edition had a Brabus Tuning box fitted as standard so that might make a difference to your insurance
