Odds are it's the original battery and if so it's likely toast.
There date codes on the battery usually - either on the case or on top of the terminals.

Does the battery needs to be AGM?
Looking on EuroCarParts and Halfords, they’re AGM and state it is start/stop which my car isn’t.
They are around £160+ but there is a battery that is the same but not AGM that is around £65.
Is it needed?

One of the terminals says 23 10. Would that indicate 2010?

If it has AGM fit AGM. The charging profile is set up for it and could cause issues if a non-AGM battery is fitted.

First thing I would do is fit a new battery. I would get one from MB. They are cheap enough.

Decided to take it to the garage.
They said two injectors were leaking pressure. They said it was work that they could not do but recommended somewhere that could.
They sent me to Engine Services in Musselburgh who specialize in rebuilding engines.
The guy was great said it was ‘chuffing’ and showed me the problem, explained it in depth and told me he would only charge labour at £45 an hour. He then took me around the workshop to show me what they do and it was really impressive.
I will still get a new battery but I feel quite confident with this garage.

I’ll report back when I get the car back but fingers crossed
