Hi all, just joined up and wanted to introduce myself.

Living in Holt, Wiltshire, I am a huge MB fan. My daily drive is a 2006 CLS320, and we have a family car in a E320 T model, my wife has a 2003 CLK320 'Final Edition' Convertible, and my 'pride and joy' is a near mint 1987 260E Saloon.

I have a technical background, and have been a MB tech in the past.

That 260E must be quite rare. Back in the early 90' as a Fleet Disposals Manager at a major Vehicle Contract Hire company we were exporting those and the 230E to Malaysia for use as Taxi's. There was a huge demand for them and consequently achieved high prices. Because of that I would have thought your 260E would be quite a rare thing

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I think its a rare beast and you are not the first to say it! Its in superb condition, 2 owners and a very genuine 79,000 miles. It has also had the all important A/C R12-R134A conversion done, so the A/C is easier to maintain.

The only thing i will change is the stereo. It was removed and a Pioneer unit fitted years ago, i am currently looking out for an original Blaupunkt Casablanca unit to replace it, maybe someone on here has one sitting on their garage shelf somewhere!

Its a beauty and a keeper!
