Are you saying your engine is overheating (engine coolant not DPF is what I'm talking about)?

Just trying to see why the DPF is blocked and why it's not doing a regen. Low engine temp is a cause for that.

I don't understand it myself I know small journeys not good for them and my new partner doesn' t drive it far or fast but since this issue she' been doing 90 mile trip once a week , do u think a forced Regen from Merc would be a waste of cash done 45 miles today after I put in wynns eraced excess soot dtc and light never came on but guaranteed if I go out Tommorow it will be on again ....any advice thinking about tking it out to manually clean

Frankly I'd get the forced regen done by MB. These are expensive bits of kit so do it properly rather than throwing god knows what down it.

The car ecu forces a regen if the pressure sensors fore and aft of the DPF show the level of soot has built up so it may be possible that one or other of those has stopped working. No doubt hooking up to STAR will throw up a fault if there is one

Smart + others :)
If the soot content is too high or the eml light is on, it will not regenerate. It can be done most times with the help of a star machine.

I'm not getting a code saying there broke, would it need a star machine to diagnose
