C350 CDI Blue Efficieny 2011 3.0litre V6 231BHP
Hi Guys,

I've recently bought my first Mercedes. It's the c350 Cdi Blue efficieny model. When I was looking to purchase I did notice some models came with 276 BHP though mine only has 231 BHP. Not that I'm complaining. It's a 2011 model on a 11 plate.

So they guy I bought the car from was really nice and his hospitality was really good. Giving that I traveled all the way from Manchester to south Croydon for the car. He full tanked the car and took me for a meal before hand.

Got the car on 34,609 miles. I've just hit 35,100 and the service A option as come up on my dash board and that I have 30 days left.

So me being me, decided to look up on YouTube on how to access the secret menu and disable it as the messages tend to get annoying.

I remember quite clearly that it was asking for a Service 2 and a Service 3.

I accidently reset the service notification. :(

I got in touch with the previous owner he mentioned that he had done a service on the car 31,000 miles and it was the full whack. Everything got changed.

Could anyone advise me on what exactly the car was asking for as looking on the net for me was a complete headache.

I'm guessing it's an oil change as I would do this to my previous diesel cars once it did half the miles before a service, but I don't even know which one is the best oil to use for the current car I have now.

I've never used castrol fully synthetic as that's what I've come across on the net. I've had VWs and Audi's. And I've always used Mobil 1.

Would really appreciate the help and guidance.

And thank you for taking the time to read this.

Dee Jay.

As its new to you and you are doing it yourself,
do a full service then you know its right the extra cost won't be great.

Hello and welcome, the car could have been standing, these messages come up on a time scale as well as mileage.

Looking at the colour of the oil should give an indication.

for the cost ,dump the oil and filter , no grey areas then . i do mine once a yr regardless of miles ,and as i work 4000 miles from home that would never be more than 3/5k miles. i like to see clean oil on the stick, thats on the cars that even have the ****** stick now !! i also interview the oil filter to look for any bits . but thats just me

Thanks

Thank you to everyone that replied. I've booked it in for an oil change, the oil is black but not really dark black if you get what I mean. I was stressing out thinking something is going to mess up on the car.

If ever in Manchester, UK. Don't hesitate to shout me, always nice to meet Merc owners :)

What is 229.51? And poly v belt?

Reading the last two posts is making me **** bricks. I'm not in a position to fork out something pretty expensive now :( not this month anyway.

The engine oils I would appreciate the values it comes with. For example 0w40 or 5w30 etc. So some guidance there would be fantastic. The Poly V belt has really got me going. That sounds expensive :(

I'm completely new to this and my apologies in advance for all the questions which may be easy for you all to answer.

Thanks

IIRC the Poly Vee belt would be an inspection item at c35k? Not necessarily replacement automatically?

True, just look at the belt where it passes over the smallest pulley looking for hair line cracks.

Cheers

After doing some research I've gone and ordered the Mobil 1 5w30 as that meets the 229.51 requirement for the car.

And thanks for the code for eurocarparts as well as the link to the other website. I've book marked them and will keep an eye out for good deals :)

Wish I checked the forum yesterday :(

I always use the code TX15ZG for Euro car parts and get 15% off always works for me. Been using it for months :)

And I defo will be here more to comment and mostly learn.

Can't thank you all enough.

Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend.

Did you order the ESP Formula, you do need this for that car
