hi there and thanks for letting me join , ive just purchased a A160 auto a2003 model with only 89000 miles and cant believe how smooth and nice it is to drive , there is only one problem with it that needs fixing the digital infomation panel in the speedo dont light up , i can just make out the milage etc if i look hard , my question is , is this a common fault or am i just unlucky i could replace the whole speedo but that will mess up the milage, i just wondered if theres a quick fix , many thanks ,steve

I'm not familiar with that model ,but all mercs I've owned, you can adjust brightness via the steering wheel menus.

On some older models you can adjust the brightness by turning the reset knob at the side of the display.
Mine is easy to read some days and not on others. I don't think that it's worth the effort to change the display,especially if you have big hands and could make it worse.
