Hello everyone.

I just sold my Nissan Qashqai to save the monthly payments and get a banger for cash.

I needed something sensible that would be big enough to transport my big 29er mountain bike to various mountains.
So, of course, I bought a 2005 C Class 1.8 saloon Avantgarde. It was the first of many cars I test drove last weekend that was not falling apart and had working AC. I pick it up tomorrow so I'm sure I will be on here in the evening with various questions.

I will post some pics once I have it. If I can remember my Photobucket login.

It has a private plate and a rather blingy aftermarket front grill that I will swap for an original one when I can. It seems to have been loved for at least some of its life so fingers crossed it gets me home from the dealership.

Welcome Mike. Cash is King as far as I am concerned. Buy a car for cash, you own it and you can what you like with it.
No interest payments etc you save for next one.
Bangernomics cash rules.

This rule can also be applied to new cars, although admittedly much less commonly. :D

Hello, good evening and welcome.
What is your plan for transportation...roof or rear rack?

My bike is a 21kg eBike, cost more than the car, so roof is not an option. I'll probably get a towbar fitted for a Thule rack.

I've got it home now. Looking through the service records and all the garage receipts it's had the cam chain done about 20000 miles ago. So that's good news I think.

It will only pick up my local radio station so I am guessing the aerial is dodgy.

Thanks. I've already got a quote to sell the reg £500. It came with the car but I'm not really in to vanity plates. But it is very easy to remember.

I would keep the plate, but that's just me.

Congrats on the new car Mike, she's a beaut.
