Hi all

I have been reading about a 'hidden' or engineering menu on some Mercedes. Does the CLK have one? If so, how do you access it?

I ask for 2 reasons:
1. the bottom digital speed readout is set to Km/h and I would like it to be in mph
2. It seems to offer the ability to see the actual oil reading rather than 'OK' which would be handy to keep an eye on.

I only have the normal stereo not the sat nav version if that matters.

Thanks

Dave

Thanks Malcolm

I might see if the dealer will do it when I head in for the next service........depending on how much they want to attach STAR!

interestingly my c sport had the sensitive oil level in the hidden menu, but my 209 320 cdi doesnt, nor a normal electronic one, as there is a conventional dipstick.

I beieve the electronic one is fitted to the amg versions, but others will advise correctly on this.

My 2005 CLK tells me the oil level in 0.1 litre increments.

How do you get yours to tell you? Mine goes throught the checking procedure and then says oil OK - hardly a precise measurement!

I don't know what year your is, but for mine, 2005, turn the key to the first position. Mileage should be showing on the dash, press the mileage reset button 3 times & you will hear a beep.

The dash will now show the battery voltage, use the steering wheel controls to scroll forward and oil level screen will come up telling you to switch ignition on, after a few seconds it will tell you 6.4 litres or whatever.

Mine says Oil OK if the level is correct. Otherwise it shows me, in 0.1 litre increments, how much oil I need to add.

My car can say "oil level OK" "add 1 liter" "add 1.5 liter" "add 2 liter" dependent on how much if an it needs

No V6 cdis have this feature as they all have a dipstick. It isnt just AMGs, it depends on year built. "Most" 04 05 & 06 models have it.
