Reminds me of the 80s with petrol shortages and I had a Granada with a 100L fuel tank. Needed a 2nd mortgage to fill up.
I remember in the 70's a mate of mine had a 4.2 XJ6 as a company car. We pulled up in Baldock and he filled up both tanks. When he got back in the car exhaled and said 'Fu**ing hell, that has just cost me ten quid !' :D

Yea but we only earned 20 quid a month then.

When I got my first pay cheque, my mother looked at it and said, “This month is free, from next month you pay me half of that for food, board & laundry”. The worst was, I was not allowed to bring girls home. I soon moved out (which I think was her plan:().

None of this modern malarky of living off the bank of mum & dad.

I've got a weekend away to meet up with friends I Liverpool in a few weeks.
When we planned this it would have been £75 round trip.
Just worked out it will be over £100 now
66 litres will be £115 or more....

I only have a small 51 litre petrol tank compared to some, but technology has moved on and fuel consumption is better so a bigger and heavier tank is not required. ;)
I think the most I have put in my car (ever!) is recently and it was £70.
I only use Shell V Power now, it wasn't empty and it didn't totally fill it.

I only let the tank get down to about half full and then refill, it’s usually around £50/60.

When I think back my first car was only £22, it was a Green Standard 10 :D

£131.99 yesterday afternoon.
I waited till we got to Sainsbury's Bamber Bridge as it would be the cheapest place throughout the journey.
74.61 litres got me 556 miles and 2.4% left in the 75 litre tank, somehow..

Lucky the fuel light had not came on yet or it could have been expensive.

Got to love the 100L tank fitted to the Porker.

It did include a couple of packets of crisps to soften the impact.

I suppose in these times we should be asking the electric car users how much they pay to "fill their tanks" I imagine it might lead a few to switch.

Very very allegedly I have been told there is a street where many people with "confused electric meters" are charging up for free.

Most weed farmers "confuse" their meters.

Maybe Police will target electric car users!

Dont get me started on confectionery , Cadburys Fudges used to be 22g and 25p , last time the dog bought one it was still 25p but just 19g , a 14% reduction in quantity but 0% reduction in cost.

Morning rant over.

We have three EV users at work , a Tesla / Leaf / Pug 2008 , all charge their vehicles at work or at one of the many free charging points around the area so Tony Tesla has saved £200+ pm running his EV plus he also got it when the grants and 0% loans were on the table so once the loan is paid off it will cost him nothing to run + own his new car , from his POV it was a no brainer.
