Dont get me started on confectionery , Cadburys Fudges used to be 22g and 25p , last time the dog bought one it was still 25p but just 19g , a 14% reduction in quantity but 0% reduction in cost.

Morning rant over.

"Shrink-flation" grinds my gears as well - 40g packet sauces now 38g - 2g over a million + packs makes quite a difference... to the manufacturers

Last Friday, £115 for a weekend away to Anglesey! And it had just under a 1/4 in it before filling! That was Tesco Super U/L 99

S500 (W222) 2014. Turbo 4.7 V8 with loads of toys. Superfast luxury.
I remember when my Honda SH50 moped broke the £1 to fill up back in the 80’s !
I can remember hand pumps for 2 stroke on my scooter in the 60s. Friday morning putting in one and three pence for a pint of petrol to get to work on payday.

I Remember in the 80's moaning when petrol went over £1 per gallon, its gone a long way since then.
Also I was in Kuala Lumpur probably about 15 years ago when fuel doubled overnight from equivalent 17p per litre to 34ppl the city
was gridlocked with everyone filling up that night, even at that time 34p was a great deal cheaper than uk.
Only dare put E5 in the SL and that's scraping up now near £2 ppl, never filled it up as 200 - 240 miles per day is about my max. Was filling the daily drive Navara at local station a month or so ago and a guy pulled in next to me with what I think was an E or an S Bi-turbo, he said he new the staff there very well.

My Spanish aunt Mercedes regularly tanked up with a 1000 pesetas worth of alcohol fuel, ie 2 litres Freixenet 5 star. Kept her gassing away for a full day:) Does that count?

I noticed today another 2-3ppl increase at the pumps following the EU decision to restrict further oil from Russia.

I can’t believe the efficacy of the distribution system… the new higher price crude was shipped, refined, stored and delivered to my local stations all in half a day…

Those trickle down price cuts must use a different route to market than the hikes that make them richer… gears well and truly ground and blood boiled here :mad::mad::mad:

Three local stations raised their price overnight I noticed on my way to work this morning, and raised again another penny on my way home this evening. It’s an absolute joke.

And it's going to get worse  The only way to shaft the fuel companies is to stop buying fuel, that'll rock their boat, but unfortunately that won't happen because we rely on fuel. The more expensive it is the more people fill up and use their vehicles.
Filling up my V8's and revving away from the traffic lights is still a cheap thrill and a bonus is listening to the sound track from the exhausts and all for only 2ppl

No - stop-start journeys are about 25. On a run, 36. On a LONG run, 40.

No difference since the remap...

Sold - 2021 CLA 35 Premium.
£1.91 a litre for V Power at my local Shell this morning.
I have been using this garage for years and it has always been the most expensive in town, but this is getting ridiculous now! o_O

We’re getting better than that out of the R350 (400kg heavier that S211) and equalled it in the R320 (I’m sure it had a MAF issue)

Years ago I was actually embarrassed to go into the kiosk for a reset at the £100 limit.

I recently put £153 in the ML and did not want to post but now Uncle Benz's (sorry) has made me feel better. Conversely, clicking out at £99 without reaching a fully brimmed tank on an E Class actually makes me wonder where fuel prices will stop,
