I put half a tank of V-Power diesel in mine yesterday and that was just over £70
Mine is the 80 litre tank.

No - stop-start journeys are about 25. On a run, 36. On a LONG run, 40.

No difference since the remap...
Thermostat working ok ? My E320cdi is comfortably North of 40 on long runs .

Gets up to temperature really quickly and stays totally stable so I'm assuming yes...

Currently costing around £165 to fill up the 350 diesel ML.

The numbers are so high they are becoming meaningless. Just have to suck it up I guess.

We also have a Tesla and even though the electricity prices have doubled for us having just come out of a deal a couple of months ago, it is still of course significantly cheaper to run. It is my wife’s car and I still prefer to stick to the ML.

The running costs are making me rethink though and am considering a hybrid 4x4 as a replacement at some point. Of course the purchase price on these is hugely the problem so no easy answer here.

I put in £35 worth of V Power at my regular local Shell garage today and I only got 17.42 litres.
That is £2.009/litre!
I will be reconsidering my choice to use V Power from now on...then petrol in general if this trend continues.
The government need to do something about the cost of fuel because it is really getting out of hand now. But of course they rake in more and more money as the price rises.

Got a 500 mile round trip next weekend.
It's £9 a gallon now.

Will be taking it steady eddy at 75 and should see north of 40mpg

Will be spending way more or food and booze and accomodation, but still it will be £115 or so...

Looking forward to my 900 mile round trip to the Spa F1 this year :(. I could estimate the rough fuel costs, but I'd rather not.

We’re getting better than that out of the R350 (400kg heavier that S211) and equalled it in the R320 (I’m sure it had a MAF issue)
Ditto. I can get 33-34 with ease, 38.2 over a 700 mile run and a best ever of 40 from my R350cdi.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's cheaper using standard fuel and just putting additives in.
"£2 worth and a shot of Redex please mate"

That's pretty much what I do with the R class.
Standard supermarket diesel with Archoil 6900 additive. Not cheap at £24 per litre but it does 1000 litres so works out at 2.4p per litre - much cheaper than posh diesel.

I have decided at these prices I just cannot justify using V Power anymore, so will be using standard Asda petrol for the foreseeable future.
I say this in the hope that fuel costs will eventually come back down again...but I really wouldn't bet on it.
