So far, I like the sound of Washing up liquid & sugar ....... and also the used vinigear option ..... both of which sound like, something ya grandma told you to use !

Washing up liquid & sand, I hope was a remedy for hands, and not alloys !

I polish my alloys, so brake dust removal, is easier ............... Beofre Kim & Aggie, the cuphoard under the sink, had a product for nearly every application ........... we must have had shares in Proctor & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson ........... now there's little under there .............. We keep copious amount of Bi-carb, Vinigear, and lemons, these days.

Anyone tried, Bi-carb of soda, on their Alloys ??

Must clarify here, I was talking about washing hands with washing up liquid and sugar. Sorry went OT there.

No, but it works a treat on furred up battery terminals.

So we have no credible, homemade Alloy cleaner ?? .......... there's gotta be something out there .................. I can't use the Jam ......... I'm saving it for Mrs Thumper ! ............ (and then the fight started)

To keep that shine and make them easy to clean next time, when they are dry wipe over all surfaces with a rag soaked with WD 40. I have been doung this on bikes since that went to casr alloy wheels, and, on cars with alloys since time began. There are other products out there like AFC 50 and Scottoiler 365 but they are more difficult to clean off.
