Hope someone can help. The hood bow (window) on my car does not lift up far enough when dropping the hood. It should lift almost vertical. The compartment cover catches on the little metal hood brackets unless I help the hood bow manualy. The same when putting the hood up. This is ok for me but my wife whose car it is (indulgent husband) can't manage to press the switch and help the hood at the same time. The car needs a new hood anyway so I would like to fix it before we dig deep and splash out. I have some knowledge on the mechanism. It seems that the ram(s) involved is short of pressure or the limit switch (if there is one) needs re-setting.The mechanism may have been strained at some point in its life. Everything else is ok and the hard top goes on and off ok. Help help or it's an expensive trip to the local stealership.
