On an R230what exactly alters when you selct the C/S modes. Honestly not sure I feel any really noticable feel in the cars perfomance . i drive mainly in town and the occaisional long drive 60 kilometers or more two or three times a month. roads here in Spain are pretty good and very few speed bumps in my part of the world.

C (comfort) starts in 2nd gear and changes gear earlier , S (sport) starts in first and holds it in gear for longer

Just the gearbox as per above. If you have the ABC (active body control) suspension you can alter that separately.

Yes this. C/S is just gearbox parameters.
On ABC equipped cars there's an ABC Sport button that firms up the struts. Body roll is limited to 0.75 degrees (normally 1.25 degrees) and damping rates increase. No such facility on coil spring cars.

I had adaptive dampers on my previous car and the S button used to tighten up the suspension on that. It depends on what your car has, I suppose. On my 207, it also altered the steering response and made it slightly more fun to drive when pressing on a bit.

I really do , only two confirmed cases of corona here out of a population of 18500. But it looks like thing might get back to normal after the 12th April. However most of the locals and their business'es won't be so lucky. Stay safe eveyone wherever you are.
Once again thanks everyone for your help .This really is a great forum.

Count yourself lucky :p
ABC is a double edged sword.
On the one hand the grip and comfort is second to none, but on the other if it plays up it can take the shine off all that earlier enjoyment....
