Hi

Does anyone know the part number for a mercedes horn?

After driving the new A-Class and C-Class, I found their horns to be much louder and deeper than my current one on my W169. - Maybe one of mine has packed up?

I can see the one horn in front of the radiator grill, does anyone know where the other is, or if there is even another one?

There should be two horns, high note and low note. If yours sounds rather high pitched/weak/feeble then perhaps the low note has stopped working.

Hmm I only seem to have one located on the left side of my bonnet catch. Looking at a google image photo I should have one located either side of the bonnet catch.

Are they different part numbers for low tone and high tone horn?

If it's anything like my 168 A class then the other horn is probably well hidden (under a headlight, perhaps?).

Yes, different numbers for high/low note. An MB dealer will be able to supply the correct ones for your car from the chassis/registration number (at a price..)

Hi
Do all non-mb cars, say VW FORD ETC, have 2 horns ?

Sorry, I don't know..

Mercedes' EPC shows 2 horns for the W169, I guess it is possible that on some variants of the W169 only 1 is fitted as standard?

My car only has 1 horn. I rang up the parts department and he said that yes it only came with one. A 440Hz.

Under the bonnet you can see the space to install a second horn. What would be the part number for the lower tone horn, Id like to get this installed.- Tapping into the existing wires.

There seems to be quite a lot of different part numbers for the 510Hz horn. I wouldn't want to give you the wrong number, perhaps it would be safer to ask your local MB parts department.
