how difficult or easy to fit a centre console bulb?

hi all new to mercedes
bought a 95k 1997 full merc history c class the 230k
only problem with it is the outside of the rotary knob on centre console doesnt light up.
its the one that directs the air flow
how easy or difficult is it to change the bulb?
i am completely useless at anything mechanical so any help gratefully received
may not seem like a big problem and i suppose it isnt but at night i got to turn interior light on to see where i want to turn it to

but sod that little lot just to change a bulb i will either take it to garage or leave it without illumination

If it is the one that controls air flow, just pull the knob off and the bulb is behind it, I think Blobcat thought you meant the temp. control wheel.
But be careful to put the knob back on correctly by noting where knob was pointing, before removing, to maintain correct orientation.

yeah its the one that directs the airflow to feet face windscreen etc is that the one you mean cos its the one i mean
