how do i check auto fliud on e240(2000)

getting a wining noise from engine and losing drive whilst in drive mode.where is filler cap situated for auto box and how do i open it to check fluid level.

U need a dipstick to check the autobox, it has to be purchased from MBUK, best bet is to try and find an independant merc mechanc who will have the dipping tool and check the box for you, some of the guys on here have them so maybe they may live near you,
The dip tube is drivers side , back of the engine and covered with a black plastic cap
