How do i get this bit out???

Right, i need to get this part out from the rear of my centre console.

Mine has the vents broken, kids keep doing it as they climb through, and from Merc its silly money to repair, and buying another unit is a waste of time, they'll only do it again. So i want to remove it, and fix all the fins open and into a set position, but how the heck do you get it out???
