The one thing I love most about this car (2005 W209), is the way Mercedes have thought of everything to make your driving experience more pleasant.

Example, The headlamps are cleaned automatically if the "Wipe with windscreen washer fluid" function is operated 15 times while the lights are on and the engine is running. When you switch off the ignition, the automatic headlamp cleaning system is reset and counting is resumed from 0.

What functions does your car have that have impressed you?
Please put year & model info to aid others.

Another one I forgot, when my indicator bulb failed, the dash display said......

Right Rear Indicator Bulb Out, Back Up Bulb On

And the reversing light was being flashed instead of the indicator until I replaced the bulb.

Cruise control and central locking.

CC is so easy - lift the stick and it's on. No setting, no messing.
The most user-friendly one I have ever used.

Central locking operation - no clunks, thuds or clicks, virtually silent in operation.

I love the sound the door handles make when opening the door on the 124 and 140, it sounds solid, I want it as a ring tone!!

Another for 2005, W209

I usually keep the windscreen wipers on auto/intermittent and noticed that when you come to a stop, they stop also, and start up again when you move forward.

Once, the rain was really heavy so I switched then from auto to on,this time when I stopped at the lights, they switched to auto/intermittent then resumed to on when I pulled away.

Nice touch, I'm sure on the fastest setting they will switch to the lower one when stopped at lights too.

I take Merc truck dashboards apart quite often. The thing that does it for me is that when you put things back together, they just fit, no hassles,no problems.

Good point. I think I might have put them on full on one or two occasions.

My favourite bit is the aux in. Not just ipod but any input - mp3 player, phone, ipod, cassette player...

Do you know i'd forgotten that one.

Had cause to remove the instrument cluster a month or so ago - I was impressed with the way it was almost sucked back into the cavity, like a cork in a bottle!

I'll also add to this list, all internal panels and covers - open screw heads are my pet hate, you will find most covers have an almost 'secret' way of removing them too.

Anti hi-jacking, thats a nice touch!!!

Forgot about that one a few weeks ago when I jacked the car to fit the winter wheels & set the alarm off.

Should have pressed the button on the dash to disarm it, must come in handy for ferry crossings too, I imagine.

Another nice touch ..........

I've just thought of.

You open the boot, the light comes on - but if you pull the little grey stalk, it goes off to save the battery!
Never seen that on another car either. Simple but effective.

I like the indentations for fingers under the rear seat of a W124 estate. When you slip your hand under the seat, wondering how it lifts up, the indentations tell you where your fingers should go - and the seat lifts straight up

And the button to lower the rear headrests before reversing is a nice touch, as well as the levers to fold the rear seats are in the boot so as you do not need to get into the car to find the seat release, and if that wasn't enough, 2 red flags stick up through the parcel shelf & only retract when the seat back is secured again so as you do not forget.
