How much coolant do I need?

I am looking at doing a flush on the coolant in my 2011 E350 CDI BlueEfficiency. Would anyone know how much coolant I would need to get for the system? Mercedes sell them in 5L bottles and I am not sure if I will need 2 or 3. Don't fancy paying for an extra bottle if I don't need it.

First thing to know is whether the stuff MB are selling is ready mixed or concentrate. If its 'neat' then you'll need half as much as its usually mixed 50/50. The capacity should be in the back of your owners manual.

Pass and pass. MB Newcastle sent me a link, but it does not say if it ready mixed or concentrated. That said I am sure they will advise me if I ask them. As for the manual, I will have to have a look when I get home tonight.

Page 335 of the E Coupe 350 manual says 8.4 litres.
Page 387 of the E Class Sedan manual says 8.4l except for BlueTec engines which are 11.5l.
BlueTec is the hybrid one.

These are US manuals but I wouldn't expect any difference.

Great. That means one bottle of coolant will do me nicely. 5L turns into 10L.
