Hi all
i have to purchase a new 3 button remote control keyfob for my 1998 E Class 300TD Avantgarde and have been quoted a price of £140. (local merc dealer)
Does this seem about right or does anyone know of any place that supplies them cheaper.
I have tried all the avenues of 2nd hand kefobs and reprogramming and have decided to just buy knew.
Thanks

I think the words 'over' and 'barrel' come to mind with MB replacement Keys. I enquired when my ignition switch started playing up (since replaced EIS and problem solved) and was told by MB parts that keys are now £120 + vat.

I had to replace a 3 button key when I bought the car 2 years ago and this cost £60 (under warranty). At the time I thought that MB were missing an opportunity to make money and that is exactly what has happened they have doubled the cost.

Being cynical, we all wanted more reliable cars and now we've got them (hopefully) the dealers have to make money somewhere and expensive parts it is.
