Very impressed with everyone's contributions, may i thank you all sincerely.
Didn't have time to phone the dealership today but will defo do it tomorrow and
update you all.

Having a little worried moment after checking my sale pack. My service sheet
only consists of 1 print out, Service A at 29,883 miles (2 years & 1 month old)!
Could that be right, surely it would have been serviced at 12 months?

I've just purchased an ml320 and it too showed a2 year gap between registration and first service.. So you are not alone.

I have questioned it but have yet to receive a reply.. This "all the cars have to have a full mb service, to qualify for our used car sales scheme" rubbish, means nothing.

just ask yourself one question. Which great white shark would eat you, the one that's naked or the one wearing a tie and tag watch?

At the mileage recorded, 38,000 they might be including a change of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) with the service. If not, then they should be.

We really need to know what they intend to do in this case, in order to comment on whether or not it is value for money.

I bet its new brake fluid at three years. They did my C220 at the three year service, and it doesnt show on the service indicator in the car.

Brake fluid was changed in the A Service along with air filter.

depnding on the age of the vehicle, assyst allowed varying time/mileage intervals, so this could well be correct! Our 51 plate 203 for example, only asks for a service every 2 years!

Mmm, just read my 'Mercedes Benz Approved Used Car Warranty' booklet and it seems that i have to take it to a MB retailer to maintain my used car warranty:
Section 6
"All service work must be carried out by an authorised Mercedes-Benz Retailer using only Mercedes-Benz approved parts"

Has anyone read the terms and conditions of their used car warranty, wondering whether it's worth having at all!

P.s. Lowest quote from indie for Service B £160!!

MB Harrogate doing a fixed price - £225/£325 for A/B respectively on your model.

There are worse places than Harrogate to spend half a day wandering about if you fancy a trip over the tops.

I can't recommend them highly enough

Prior to my warranty running out i had 2 warranty items done and they never asked for service book so they must check on line through the dealer networks or not bother, however you may well have to service the car at MB but any other work like brake pads etc its your choice.

Just been on the MB Preston website and they are offering Service B for £299/£309 (not sure which because it gives two prices).
Now that's a bit of luck considering it was £385 a few weeks ago! I'll ring tomorrow.

Well, well, MB dealership say that it requires an A service because my car is telling me that, even though i told them that the other week, but they insisted it required a B service and my car was wrong.
£199 compared to £385, bonus. Thanks again to everyone for your comments.
P.s. can't stop reading everyone's posts now, becomes addictive, don't you think???
