Once a month due to grief I get from friends, @ work etc for having a dirty motor. I could clean it more but I find myself using car cleaning time to post on here as its much better.

At Least once a week through the automated carwash:Oops:, if I had to do it by hand the muck would be 2 inches thick below the level of the door handles.

I clean and hoover the inside about once a month.

I live by the seaside so salt and seagull pooh are a major problem, but I work in Teeside (40 miles away) where the problem mainly arises from the acid rain eminating from the complex of petro-chemical processing factories in this area.

Used to be every week until I moved house, but car now lives in the garage and so down to every 2 weeks or so now. More often in the winter when there is lots of salt and grot about. Definitely more often if I have to carry passengers!

Does anybody else here cheat by just cleaning the wheels and windows, if you are short of time? Amazing how much difference this makes.

Once a year, whether it needs it or not!:D:D

Only joking, about once a week or sometimes even two or three times, dark colours such as the dark blue and dark green of my two Mercs seem to show dust and dirt up more and as for my Scorpio, well, it is metalic Aubergine (black in most lights) and shows up everything

I like a clean car! Maybe an OCD:D:D:D

I may do mine once every 2 months unless it looks filthy.
the reason for the long periods is that a bit of grime hides the rust !

Happily I am able to garage mine and they each have a couple of outings a week.

I wash the SL by hand, and it is very gratifying, but I guess only every 6 - 8 weeks. The other 2 are nano paint and light colours - so they don't show the dirt when dirty, but look great when clean - so I treat each of them to a trip through Mr Clean in Stratford u Avon about once every 2 months on average.

I do tend to vacuum the insides and boots regularly and take a damp cloth around all the doorways and boot apertures. Not difficult, but does make such a difference.

When I was less fortunate cars used to get their levels checked weekly, fuel and washer water topped up as required, lights and windows cleaned after each journey, ready for next time.

Obsessional? Moi??

probably about every 3 weeks or before something like a long drive or a MB meet may trigger me to do it. i like to drive long distances with a clean car to start with if i can, dont know why but i prefer it.

i notice ST4 has put his vote in; 1 hit for "never" hehe

I broke the tradition today, wash and polish. After the meet I will put up pics to prove this. She looks brand new and as Malc says - less wind resistance (the paint feels like silk) and mass (less dirt to carry about) my benz really will just sip a meagre amount of fuel as I drive to Stirling tomorrow...
