yes - and the headlight switch is lit - usually...
to remove:-
under switch itself is a small slot - shove a small flat screwdriver in there and the switch comes off. under this is a large nut that holds the switch itself on.
the steering wheel adjuster has a screw holding the back plate on - remove. under this are two more - again remove.
see where the letters are, is there a bulb in there to light them up? also i can remove the panel where the window switches are but i dont know how to open that actual thing where the letters go.
look the gear lever off, then the surround around the gear housing(116).
Then i moved on to to take the panel where all the switches are for the windows etc....
then where the letters are its a part of the actual in the pictures its numbered(74). to take this off. there was a wide clip that i had to push and it poped up. the clip is in the middle of the bitt facing towards u. then i had to take the clips out of back of it. i used a thin screw driver. there are 2 clips, 1 on either side of it. The whole thing pops up.
After that. the buld is right at the back of the unit (113)
yea! ive actually helped someone do somthing with my epc and new-found webspace.
did you take pics of each step so you can do a how-to? im sure it would be useful to everyone as i bet the gear levers are all almost the same...
124 (all) 129 201 and 202 use the same part 80 (lighting unit)
whilst idly looking at the epc - the 'slotted gate' 74 is the same as the 129 SL - the thing that the lever screws into -50 - is a 126 item (up to 95) after that its a 202 item
I see that most of these replies refer to the W140 gearlever. Does the W202 that the originator and I drive have an illuminated headlight switch? Mine has never lit up. If so, is the method of access similar to the W140? Ta!
Oops! Sorry!
It was the link to the other forum about headlamp switches that was related to W140s. Did I miss something about this that related to W202s as well? Trying to work and post on here at the same time.....
