How to clear display message

Can anyone help me on this one please?....I have a CLK270 CDI avantgarde (2003)which was recently serviced at the place i bought it from (not a mercedes dealership)....the problem is that the 'service overdue message' is still showing every time i start the car up....I took it back to the place i bought it from but they were unable to clear it saying that it needed to be done manually but they werent' sure how to do that?!!...Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated
