vredstein sessantas are whisper quite and ride is good wear rate is good too had 25k out of a set on the back of a 320 compact bmw

Leaning towards these at the moment, seem to have good reviews ?

This tyre is also asymmetrical but its performance is not directional. This makes the tyre exceptionally quiet"
Best price I could find is £90-00 for fronts 225/40/18s and £143 for back 265/35/18s
Any one have any thoughts ?

How many miles have you done on the new tyres - they will feel different after about 1000 miles or so. You cannot tell very much until they are bedded in properly.

Probably about 5 or 6 hundred, just feels really rough

Good point for this difference to be so noticeable

I fitted a set of Pirellis to my car at one point and drove about five miles before returning to the dealer. It felt as if I was driving on cobblestones almost. All the wheels came off and were checked for balance and for roundness and nothing found. ****ed off, I went home (in the wet) and scared myself witless at about 15mph at the first roundabout where grip was virtually nil. Not a good experience.
After about 300 miles, there was a definite softening to the ride, although not a lot more grip, but by 1000 miles, the ride was much smoother. Still no grip mind and that stayed until they were worn out - 4000 miles later. They just didn't suit the car.
