I like the way the thread has moved from how to get more to how much you get. It would be nice if Mercedes (and others) would sit uptake notice and think about making a more economical and environmentally responsible cars. The Japanese can do it why can't the Europeans?

OY! Stop Theif! Come back here with my soap box!

BTW. My average (by readout) has gone to 44.5 and I'm still not happy.

I really doubt a few MPG here or there is the difference between enivornmental harmony or ecological break down.

Cars emit very little of world wide CO2, indeed man accounts for less than volcanoes so whilst you may feel the pinch of the MB on your wallet, the planet and environment really couldn't give a t055.

Amen to that :)

I don't do mpg but miles to a tenner, much easier for customers to undstand fuel consumption because the majority(I've learned) only ever put £10/£20 in at a time.Anyways I fill up with £20 of super unleaded everytime and get 70miles on average in my R129 300-24.

Have silicone tyres fitted to your car and fit a 'BlueEfficiency' badge on the back to give yourself an extra 8% mpg!

Do we really care about Miles per gallon ............ or it is mistaken for how much the car costs to run ................ As many know ... Cows cause more Co2 than vehicles ......let alone Volcanoes, and a whole host of others

The governments of the world only switched on to the enviroment, when they realised they could tax us, to move about freely !!

Only because fuel was is so expensive. If we had venezualan pricing, about 1p/ltre last year it would be safe to say I'd be in a 420cdi or 500 E class and I'd drive it fast

My point exactly! :D

Oh! , I wondered how long it would take! the 'I can't make a difference brigade' have arrived, the ones that will be first as the gate demanding that somebody else does something about their problem. OK, so what about when the oil runs out? Oh yes I forgot, someone else will have solved your problem by then.

I'm out of here sadly still driving the worst car I have ever had the missfortune to sit behind the wheel of. To the ones who tried to answer my question sensibly you have my thanks. To the others who can't see beond the badge in the middle of the stearing wheel ............ never mind.

Bye everybody, thank you and drive safe.

He's never there long enough - far too worried about how many miles he can squeeze from his minute engine. I think I was right in my first reply when I said about him buying a bike.

Of course we do, otherwise we would all drive V8's or V12's and try to get them down to 8mpg.

Russ
