I have an E350 CDI 2009 and there is something rolling around inside the drivers seat every time I go around a corner. It is driving me crazy as I can't get into the seat to find out what it is and remove it. I am worried about pulling the back off the seat in case the airbags go off. does anyone have any ideas?

Usually there are two screws along the bottom edge of the seat back. Remove those and the bottom should pull out and then down to release the clips.

If your are concerned about the airbags (I don't believe you need be) just make sure the IGN key is removed.

If it's the same as the comfort seats the screws are exactly as whitenemesis says and the back will drop down but it pulls out from the top and can then be lifted up and away. If it won't come out from the top straight away, just shove it down a bit more as it has to squeeze between the seat cushion and the hinge covers. One of those classic once it's off it's obvious things.

Not sure where something would roll about in there, is it definitely not something in the cubby on the front of the seat base? Or maybe something has gone into the ventilation outlet under the seat?

Some seat backs like on the 216 have a cloth bottom that clips to the front bar underneath

I'm pretty sure the seat backs don't have airbags in them. ;)

Hi Guys, I had a good look around and can't see any screws that attach the back panel at the bottom. The panel seems to be inset into the back of the seat and is the bit that has the elasticated book flap. It seems to be free most of the way around it apart from I think 4 places so am wondering if it has those plastic push fittings that hold panels in place. If I give it a really good pull it may come off?

Screws should be along the bottom edge, underneath.
