How to - ML Central console removal

My 2003 ML has a problem with the aircon vents to the rear compartment. I am not getting proper airflow through to the rear, either at floor level or through the console vents. I guess this means something has come adrift in the ducting through the console (Has anyone got any other ideas there?). Had a good look at the console and cannot see how to remove it. Has anyone got a DIY for same or can anyone give me sufficient clues as to how to do it. Looking at a parts breakup hasn't helped. Just trying to avoid a trip to the dealers.

The oddments box in the centre console has two screws at the bottom. Remove these and have a look inside.

Hi I have had mine out its an easy job as black55 says

You can also remove the glove box and get your hand in behind the dash board and down to the back of the air vent controls you might find something adrift there
