Battery flat; can't open boot with emergency key. Car is on drive and not locked so I have been able to open the bonnet at least. I 'think' I have found the cover over the emergency jump points - on my CLK Cabrio it is on the right-hand side (in front of air con gubbins). It is a small black box with a large X and 6A ? on the top. I'm presuming this is the cover - yes ?
It appears to have 4 pieces of hook shaped plastic on two sides of the box which appear to hold the cover in place and it looks as though these four 'hooks' should be pushed in so the cover comes up.
But I can't do it - I just cannot get the top off the box or to move up, down, sideways - anything.
How do I manage to push in these four plastic lock things ?
I'm really struggling now - I don't have any great strength in my wrists or fingers - and as a woman on my own there's no-one around to 'ask for help' !!!
Any advice please would be very much appreciated.

Hi and welcome. Sounds like the right thing to me. On my old 202 l think l had to prise each of the 4 tags out a little in order to lift the cover. Maybe do 2 on one side first, lift that end slightly then do the 2 the other side. Can be slightly tricky but definately doable. Good luck.

Ps the tag thingy's pull outwards, at least they do on the 202. Pressing inwards sounds wrong to me

Hi Grahamcol - oh thank you so much. Couldn't attept this yesterday but tried this morning. The little black box has 4 plastic loops which fit over the 4 prongs on the box itself. Took screwdriver to try to unhook loops - didn't work. I went to the kitchen drawer and looked; I saw a ZEST REMOVER bit of gear - (something cooks use to scrape the rind from lemon or orange - which I'm sure you know !). It has a serrated and curved edge - and the curve was what I needed to get under the loop and pull it free.
And I managed it - I did it. I succeeded - oh yippeee !!!!!!
The battery charger is now hooked up and is charging - it's little lights are flashing away showing it is charging.
Oh my - am I pleased with myself - I feel quite proud that I managed to find the info, and to physically - sort out this problem.
So very, very many thanks for your helpful advice - as a total novice at car maintenance I do struggle, but it is so wonderful when someone is willing to give guidance and help.
Thank you so much; now I'll soon be driving my lovely CLK again - can't wait.

You're very welcome and I'm glad it's sorted. Your description of plastic loops etc is a much more accurate one than mine !
