how to remove door handles w124

need some help everyone, got a w124 and need to figure out how to take all of the door handles off to replace them, any help would be great.

IIRC there's a black plastic plug on the door edge. Remove that & you'll find a fixing screw

Amazing to relate, I believe this is covered by the Haynes manual. Or I may be dreaming

Nick is right, the front doors have plugs the rears dont but you have to ease the rubber outa its slot to see the hole. It's a 3mm allen key (i think) and you unscrew the grubscrew till its flush with the casting then insert a wide screwdriver blade between the two bits of the handle and twist gently. The smaller rear bit will slide back and it can then be eased out. The main handle will then come out with a joogle.
If the rear bit wont come out the grubscrew needs another turn out but be careful it doesnt drop into the door cos you will never find it. The boogie gremlins get to it before you will.

Locks on the doors

Do this process uninstall the locks on the doors along with the handles?

Yes. The locks come out complete with the small part of the handle. :idea: :idea: only the key barrel part of the lock that is. The mechanical latching thingy/striker is a different ball game.
