Recently, well kind of, mid December some thieving little s#!t tried to steal my sprinter van, but the battery was flat so instead they stole my eis. Now here's my problem, I've got an eis with the right part number but cannot program it to the vehicle ecu. I've got an Autel maxiIM IM508, XP400pro and Gbox 2. I can and have programmed a key to the eis but, I cannot erase the eis, I cannot activate/deactivate the eis and I cannot write to the eis.
Why is it sooo easy to steal a sprinter van but nigh on impossible to return it to working properly? All I want is for it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will not be able to program the EIS using any standard diagnostics tools
You ideally need the old EIS to read the data from, as you are missing that, you will need a virginised EIS unit and DAS to program it along with the special key. It may be possible to program the EIS using data from the engine ecu but Id have to double check based on PN

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, the part number is A9069003403. How do the thieves steal them so quickly if they don't have the key, a cloned key they just get in the van rip the dash up to get to the eis and they're gone? Fords back in the day were harder to steal than a sprinter these days. and what is the point of having an immobiliser when it can be bypassed in under a minute? If I could delete it I would. Many thanks for your help

As you still have the van, they didn't bypass the immobiliser. It's quite easy to remove the eis with the alarm going off! With the right kit it's possible to program them but it's specialist.

How/where do I get/make a virginised eis? Because my key programmer says it can replace an eis?
It just seems like I spend more money trying to make my van sit still than it does to drive it around.

You need to speak to an auto locksmith. You need somebody who can do all aspects of its replacement otherwise you are going to get very frustrated

That time came and went many months ago my friend! New brakes, new exhaust, new back axle, new sliding door, new lights, new windscreen, new bonnet, new wings, new bumper, new paint job, new sound proofing and insulation and as about as much good as a chocolate fire guard.
