How to reset the Maintenance Service interval:

- Switch ignition on to position one, (first click clockwise);
- "Outside temperature" should be displayed, if not move to it (You have to be in this display to go further);
- Press the trip odometer, "reset", knob three times consecutively ( The Voltage display will appear);
- Press Down Arrow to enter the "Service Menu". "Service Data" submenu below will be highlighted.
- Press right page to enter the Service data submenu. (Left page goes up in menus, -+ selects items displayed)
- Press - three times on right of wheel to highlight "Confirmation".
- Use right page to select to display sub-menu as to what to confirm.
- Select "Full Service" (No need to use -+.) to confirm this choice
- Press right page to confirm. (Delay is about 3 seconds.)
- Press left page twice to exit the menu system, or turn off the ignition switch.
- Turn off ignition. Turn back on. The display should show that it is recalculating the mileage and days. This takes about 60 seconds so be patient.

Thats only relevant to cars. If it's the new sprinter, ie 07 onwards, even the dealers cant get it right. I have it at work on wis, I'll look am and post it, but even then it can be complicated, one of them things it's easier to do than try to describe.

To reset the service light (spanner) on 2000-07 Sprinters.

Switch on ignition
Press KM button twice
Switch off igntion
Press and hold KM button
Switch on ignition and hold untill spanner resets and bleeps.

It is advisable to have all doors shut as sometimes it gets a feed from the curtesy light, ie, when you open the drivers door the speedo lights up.

2007 onwards is different and more complexed I will post later.

PS can some one make this sticky?
Hope it helps

Oh I am sorry, I quoted from my experience with W211 earlier this year, I thought they are all the same form 2003 onward. I got it from the American training site can't remember where now. Someone to remind me will he good.

It looks like precisely what I did for my 2001 W170. Are sprinter a step behind? I thought they are ahead with start/stop feature we cars don't have.

Thats ok. Sprinters do use a lot of generic stuff, but are more akin to trucks, in some ways. To be fair the trucks are less troublesome than cars and I believe truck opertors wont tolerate bad service.
