Hi peoples.

Passenger seat occupied always with my girlfriend. On a 50 miles trip when my girlfriend moves on the seat in some specific way the SRS dashboard error disappears, when she moves again in another way then the SRS error appears back on the dash.
Thanks in advance.

Get under the seat and clean and check the connection to the seat sensor.

Hi sir.
So that means I should disconnect all the connectors under the seats and then to clean with a WD40 spray? Is that what you recommend? Thank you.

No Sir get some non drying switch cleaner from Maplins and do all the yellow connectors both sides

Thanks for the recommendation but I couldn't find any Maplins product on ebay.
The best I could see on ebay is this.
Should I buy it?

Either this, what else would you recommend please. Many thanks in advance.

Switch cleaner comes in 2 types drying and non drying, I cannot quite read if that one dries completely. The difference between them is a non drying one will clean the contacts, a non drying will clean and leave some lubricant behind bridging out the contacts so that no moisture can get in.

You may have "ELFA" in Norway or this one on Ebay

Hi people.
I tried buying from ebay. I found the one you have recommended but the man refunded me saying is not possible sending to Norway pressurized aerosol can.
Btw there is in Norway a website with ELFA they sell kind of lots of stuff. I've tried putting it through translator, but they have to many similar products and hard for me to understand.
I might reply back soon on this thread with some screenshots about the products I think it may fit the description you said.
Many thanks for the help. Cheers

Good evening.
I had sprayed all the plugs under the seat but I still have "SRS Restraint system malfunction".
Just a quick reminder about the problem: when someone is occupying the front passenger seat with seatbelt on and if sometimes that person stays on uncertain position then SRS error disappears while I'm driving, after the person on the passenger seat moves on another position then SRS error comes back, still while driving.

Hi, the issue you describe is quite likely to be a fault with the occupancy sensor, which is shown in post #1
You need to have the fault codes checked before buying new parts!

Hi. I don’t think my light is on due to the seat pad. I have purchased another pad and with out fitting it I have plugged it in. Will this not give the same result I.e put the light out. Thanks for any help.

when a SRS warning appears it needs its fault code to be cleared even if the original fault was fixed.

Given you need a code reader to reset the light you may as well but something like an Autel AP200 (around £60) and read the codes, replace what it calls out, fit the part and clear the codes. Cheaper than a diag session to reset the light after guessing the wrong component.
