How to work the Airconditioning

I have just bought a 2005 A170 avantgarde and it has no user guide/manual and I am battling with how everything works and what all the buttons are for.

I have contacted Mercedes customer service via email about obtaining a manual, but have two pressing issues namely

1 How to set the fan and/or air-conditioning

2 How to reset the clock/timer

Would be grateful for any advice?

2005 so it will be a 168 or a 169 which had different heating/cooling systems, then on top of that they both had manual fans as well as the optional climate control that was all automatic. As above if you can take a picture of the switch panel as a whole we can likely say which it is and how it should work

I believe you have the Second Generation W169 A Class. If that is the case pressing the AC Button with the red light on indicates the AC is OFF. Light OFF - AC ON. Light ON - AC OFF. The Fan must be ON for the AC to work.

Sorry, not sure about the Clock.

Plus, of course, the air conditioning on a 16 year old car may be broken, and no combination of buttons and knobs will make it work in that case.
