I have three or four WHITE GLOSS paint specks on the driver side front wing of my BLUE C Class. They've been on the car about 3 weeks now (just noticed after giving it a wash!).

Any ideas how I can get this off without damaging my paintwork?

I have seen the following suggestions on an AV Forum(??!)

1- clay bar
2- white spirit
3- paint thinner

Has anyone had experience of the above?

should be ok, if it's standard house paint which you would thin with w/s anyway. Don't use thinners though, it might do for the car paint.

warrm soapy water will do the trick, then you can peel it away with finger mail

avoid spirits thinners as they will take wax off the car.

Failing that a hammer and chisel maybe? Or Napalm?

No way use thinners, turps and your finger nail.

Use G10 rubbing compound, some water and an electric bodywork buffer with a very soft head. Worked for me on another car and buffs the bodywork up superbly. You end up doing the whole car though, the results are so good!!

Yep, I'm still cleaning my Merc with my finger nail... ;-( It's takes forever but it's the way to go to not using any thinners etc.
Its like an obsession, every time you walk past it you run your finger nails down it feelling the click, click, it passes the time of day.
