HT lead

I lifted the bonet on my project today for the first time. The first thing I noticed was a HT lead resting on top of the distributer cap??? All other leads appeard to be in place and with black caps. This end cap was green? Any ideas.

Sorry guys, I have a 1980 350 SL. The lead in question is green with a black cap. All leads are connected to the distributer cap. Could it be a spare?? The remaining leads appear to be in a cluster. Not tied together but in a sleeve. The car starts ok but sounds very lumpy, it chugs. Oil pressure is great but there is also a tapping. Im not mechanicaly minded sorry, Im just a plumber and on the biggest learning curve of my life.

Just tried the electrics, windows,lights,indicators,internals, all ok but no blower? Taken out the ashtray and the lever panel above it and found nothing to connect onto the blower switch? its all been cut off. There is a guy local who breaks SLC's, does anyone know if the wiring bundles are the same as the SL.
