Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of this product? It appears to have some good testimonials, one from the Mercedes Owners Club.

My R129 SL has a cut in the drivers seat bottom and also the side has some wear by the door. I have acquired a new bottom seat cover, not yet fitted, but unsurprisingly this shows some fading to the front seats and how they have become shiny, so when I remove the seat and change the bottom cover I also want to colour match at the same time and restore the wear in the side cushion.

Everything points to this being a good diy kit, but its always worth getting independant feedback first.

This stuff is the 'nuts.

I'm sure the leather can be restored - colour matching is more of a black art, though.
You don't say what the colour is, i'm guessing black would be easier.

However, I can heartily recommend a product for reviving and revitalising - perhaps to be used after you've had a go with the colour.

I swear by 'De-Solv-it' leather reviver. Works an absolute treat on the 3-piece.
Have a look at: www.desolvit.co.uk - e-mail: enquiries@mykal.co.uk

Wonder stuff, gives leather a new look and feel.

I've used their leather recolouring balm on the (charcoal) seats of my SLK. http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Restoration.htm. It did a pretty good job of revitalising a worn patch on the drivers side bolster. The colour match isn't quite perfect but is certainly adequate on minor scratches.
Furniture Clinic claim you can adjust the depth of colour by repeated applications, so perhaps I just haven't used enough elbow grease yet!

As Doversole says, exact colour matching can be problematical. The products I've found to give perfect match results are those supplied by Volico http://www.volico.de/shop/.... but they are a bit pricey.

Was watching Wheeler dealers with Mike Brewer this week where he had the leather seats on a 70s Bentley painted. Looked fantastic when finished. Suggest looking for the website for this program and asking what they used. WWW.wheelerdealer.com.
