Hello and welcome, are you sure that a new bearing was fitted, or was the old one tightened up, it can only be the bearing that is making the noise

Humming noises are, in my experience, are usually due to tyres. Have you rotated your tyres recently or put different tyres on? Improper tread wear from poor alignment etc can cause this, particularly when you change the tyre position on the car.

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
First thing I'd do would be to swap the wheels around and see if the noise moves.

Humming noises are usually tyres. I find when my fronts are nearing the wear markers I get this. Plus a degree of tracking and sensitivity to white lines

OK you can feel faulty wheel bearings, jack the front wheel and by holding the wheel as you rotate it, bad bearings can be felt by a regular lumpy feeling through the wheel, its slight but can often be felt. you do have the other side to compare it with

If a new bearing was fitted badly it can easily be damaged while fitting.

The point is there is nothing else that can make a noise

If the wheel feels hot it could as Malcolm says, badly fitted bearings. Possibly over tightened?

Just a thought but have you checked the brake disc on that side? Any unusual scoring?

....so what were the tyres that came off Frenchy, I had Pirelli PZero Assimetrico's on a previous car and they were prone to a humming sort of road noise.

Jim.
