Maybe why it was written off. These batteries are not cheap. Test them and find out. Ask a garage.

Located in Birmingham uk. On the report it did say they didn’t check for anything electronic and didn’t mention about hybrid battery either. I spoke with Mercedes dealership and they said it’s very rare that the battery get damaged in the collision as it usually cuts off when there’s an accident. However when I gave my car to them for diagnostic they didn’t do it as they have certain criteria to meet. And the car doors and left wheel is quite damaged. The car starts however.

I would expect there to be a pyrotechnic fuse fitted to the car that isolates the high voltage battery after sensing a significant collision. I would also expect that fuse to need replacing, rather than resetting.

I am no expert on hybrid mercedes, but that is how I have seen it designed on other manufacturer hybrid vehicles.

I would start searching (online, and in parts catalogues) for a crash sensor or high voltage battery isolator. To try and find it physically on the car, I think you will need to remove the undertrays and trace back from the bright orange HV cabling going into the battery pack.

Martin.

Get the codes read! You wouldn't want to just start replacing HV Battery fuses on a crash damaged car would you? I would have the Fire Brigade standing by if that were the case! :)

for a clue on what's involved, try searching under Toyota Prius US as there is a big DIY movement over there and loads of videos.

This is merely for insight and will not necessarily be the same.

There are good battery techs over here in all sorts of areas.

As said get it trailered to a willing independent MB garage and get them to put it on STAR to give you more of an idea of what may be involved.

Local garage done diagnostic
It just said high battery voltage or something like that. I’m taking it to another garage. They said they will have to fix the leg of the car as that was ruined before looking at the hybrid side of things. Giving it one last shot
