Finally, I have to thank @grayb for pointing me towards this car and everyone else who gave me sage advice and encouragement.
I’m so happy to be back in the fold, and driving a wonderful and glorious machine.
There are so many gizmos that the honeymoon period is going to last a long time.
I have a detailer coming tomorrow to give me an assessment of how he can improve its shine and I’ll be discussing coating with him too. Ill let you know how I get on.

Thank you everybody. I appreciated your help and comments and have found the right car for my very own birthday present to me.

Always annoying when dealers sell a car and you’re obliged to drive it off running on fumes. I point blank refused to do this when I bought the 212 and they ended up putting fuel in from a jerrycan. Ironic how modern technology involves those hold your breath moments when large sums change hands - hope the car is making up for the less than perfect pick-up day

Actually I was reasonably pleased Malcolm. I saw a Jet station not far from the dealership
They did offer me some fuel but said it wouldn’t be V Power so I’d much prefer to put my own premium fuel in for a while as I suspect the car has been on SORN for a while.

That's because they are genetically adapted to try and separate as much as possible of it from it's rightful owner into their own grubby hand's........
