Looks lovely! - Shame not leather though..... Quite a bit overpriced in my mind, even in the state/condition it is in.

I had one, 300TE back in 2004 - not as nice as this one though but a lot less miles, lots of MOT and still 6 months Tax on it. I think I paid only £720.00 back then! Wasn't a seven-seater though.

Didn't have it long because I bought the 560sel (w126). But it did the job as it had a Tow Hitch fitted which I needed at the time.

Definitely worth a realistic offer.

I think it's under priced. Loved my 1996 E220 estate and picked it up (and sold it) in the days where they went for a grand for one in not pristine condition. I've seen soem of these advertised for 5-6k, not even pristine ones and not diesel either (which seem to fetch a lot more). So if that one's as good as it looks then 2k looks cheap even though it's '89 and the most thirsty engine/transmission combination.

I actually needed some engine work on my 300d when over in Uk a few years ago and considered buying a rusty UK saloon as a donor and then found the cheapest 300D UK saloons were over 2k. So thought about a UK estate 300d just to replace the saloon and reresgister and those were 4-5k. Werent too many advertised so maybe just dreamers, though not common so no way to buy cheaper. I'm sure E220 estates (not saloons) that i also considered were 3-4k in UK for good condition but nothing amazing.

The W124 seems to favour estate value over coupe which is weird as almost any other car would have a coupe as 3 or 4x the price of an estate and not the other way round. The convertibles at 6 or 7x the coupe values are extremely expensive too. I'm not sure why.

You're right about cars here being expensive here in general - though W124s don't seem to be more expensive in price, just the majority are in much worse condition (excluding rust) and with higher miles

Prices for 124’s are on the up, a good example is going with 200k on the clock will be 4-5k here now.

Given I already have 4 MBs one of which is a garage queen of a similar age I can't justify another.
As I said though - if I were in the market I'd be taking a look for sure.
