Hello, do you know what can be the reason why I had to change the rear right tire after 15000 kms ?

I read about spring rubbers ? is it the reason and is it expensive to fix ?

Thank you so much for your help.

Good lord they look they have been on a lathe,
Regardless they are pretty much at the limit by the wear indicators whihc is the abs min, 3mm is better.

How are the tyres on the other side.

Worn bushes may well cause uneven wear but tho the extent you show I would think something more

You need to get it on a lift and have the rear suspension and running gear all checked out and alighned.

Take that tyre with you and explain the situation.

It could just be a cheap or faulty tyre,

Since it look likes all the carcass has came off round the edge, was it a retreaded tyre, looks that way

it seems not possible to do any REAR alignment on a C-class w205, only front can be aligned.

On first look it appears that something has been fouling the tyre, but when i looked again it looks like the tread part of the tyre has moved away from the wall of the tyre. Faulty tyre perhaps.
What make of tyre is that ?, is it a retread ?
Would be good to know.

Brand new michelin pilot sport, I do not really believe in a faulty michelin tyre, but maybe ?

thank you.

Has the tyre been run under-inflated ie, puncture, quite rare to see a premium tyre in that state? If the tyre has been subject to normal use I’d certainly write to MIchelin with photos including batch number

I'm surprised that a Pilot Sport has got into that condition, without it being apparent that there was something seriously wrong such as a rubbing or other weird road noise. I wonder if the car has stood for a long period without being moved and underinflation has caused the tyre to crack. A weird one that's for sure.
Edit it looks like the outer face of the tyre - then it's more likely to be collapsed suspension, broken spring. lowering or similar and the tyre has been rubbing on the arch. But surely this would have been obvious when driving by the horrible grinding noise.

Brand new how long ago? No way was that fitted recently. That's done some miles looking at the treadwear indicators.

Good call on the lowering - that's exactly what it looks like.
That tyre looks very much like it's been rubbing on the arch. It would be interesting to see a photo of the arch lip from below.

Are they the original wheels for the car?
Has it been lowered?
What size tyre is it?

If the car has been lowered then you would expect same across the axle.

its either i think a retreaded knock off tyre or you have failed suspension parts that side.

Any sign of worn through arch?

Very good point in getting in touch with the manufacturer

Mercedes has almost as stupid a system on the rear as they have on the front. I have seen that wear happen on several occasions. My C Class S204 is in the early stages of starting to wear the extreme inner part of the tyre.
The front system is slightly better, but again far from adequate, whereby you fit bolts with a camphor down the middle of them which will give you and adjustment of -5; not a lot.
However there is a solution for rear tyre wear; fit these
